Advances we're able to experience in 2022:
The James Webb Telescope
The James Webb Telescope, will allow scientists to see the universe in a different light. The telescope is the most powerful tool ever created by humans and will provide scientists with information about the universe's first galaxies and stars. Being able to peer into our universe's past will advance our understanding of space and beyond, but will also inspire us to reach further than we have before.
Machine Learning and AI
Advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) are being used in numerous industries today — from healthcare to finance and beyond. Much of the software I use today use machine learning and artificial intelligence to help speed up processes, saving time and other valuable resources so one can focus on other important aspects, such as building meaningful relationships.
Medicine: Vaccines, Antibiotics, Remote Surgical Procedures
Lastly, advancement in medicine including: vaccines, antibiotics and remote surgical procedures, are now allowing us to live longer and better than before. These advancements have greatly improved the quality of human life by prolonging it while increasing our quality of health. Technology has also made it easier to assist people with disabilities. People with hearing impairments, sight impairments and mobility impairments can now use devices that allow them to do tasks they couldn't before and a lot of these advancements are now embedded within apps we use on our smart-phones daily.
New ways of seeing things, new ways to solve old problems.
In my own experience, the advancements in computing and 3D imaging has propelled my business in ways that I would have not foreseen. For example: A lot of the manufacturing processes today revolve around extremely accurate measurements through 3D imaging software and hardware. Computing power and efficiency has also increased this year alone with the release of the Apple's M1 chip. Things that took months to perform years before take only days or less to perform today.
It’s exciting to think about all of the possibilities that we will see in this decade alone. In our own quest for advancement and discovery, the only thing holding us back is our own imagination. It’s easy to come up with a host of ideas and get them on paper. It is another thing entirely to make those ideas a reality that other people can see, touch, taste, or hear. It's through experimentation, learning, making mistakes and adapting that will allow us to better understand the world around us and make progress towards a brighter future.
